Passionate and engaged? Passion for inventing and work engagement in different knowledge work contexts

Purpose In response to the increasing interest in entrepreneurs' well-being both entrepreneurship and management research fields, this study builds tests a model on role of entrepreneurial passion for inventing work engagement context modern knowledge work. The argument is built job demands–resources model, most commonly used frame measuring employee organization psychology. setting compares digital entrepreneurs freelancers with traditional workers part-time platform terms engagement. Design/methodology/approach Using quantitative design, authors collected data from 349 highly specialized through anonymous questionnaires. hypotheses were tested linear logit models. Findings results show that positively related increased demands can have positive effect complex Originality/value contributes literature by expanding analysis outside into theory adding as an important motivational factor Extant consequences digitalization still scarce, provides insights successful working platforms.
